Advanced Gastroenterology Facilities Inaugurated at MMC
Malabar Medical College Hospital & Research Centre (MMC) marked a significant milestone in advancing digestive healthcare with the inauguration of two state-of-the-art facilities in the Department of Medical Gastroenterology on Wednesday, 15 July 2026.
The newly introduced facilities include an Advanced Endoscopic Ultrasonography (EUS) System and a High-Resolution Manometry with 24-Hour pH Metry System, further strengthening the hospital's capabilities in the diagnosis and management of complex gastrointestinal disorders.
The inaugural function was held at the Department of Medical Gastroenterology at 12:00 noon. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Varghese Thomas.
The Advanced Endoscopic Ultrasonography (EUS) System was inaugurated by Mr. Anil Kumar Vallil, Chairman, MMC, while the High-Resolution Manometry and 24-Hour pH Metry System was inaugurated by Dr. Sudha Anil, Secretary, MMC.
The event was attended by the hospital's senior leadership, including Dr. Prathap Somanath, Principal, Dr. Paul Raphael, Medical Director, and Dr. Ravindran M. K., Medical Superintendent, who felicitated the occasion and highlighted the institution's continued commitment to delivering world-class healthcare through advanced technology and specialized services.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Bhavith R., expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty, staff, and guests for their presence and support.
