About the Department

The Department of Paediatric Surgery at Malabar Medical College Hospital & Research Centre is dedicated to providing specialized surgical care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents. Children are not simply small adults—their surgical needs require unique expertise, advanced technology, and a compassionate approach tailored to their growth and development. 

Our department offers comprehensive diagnostic, surgical, and post-operative care for a wide range of congenital and acquired conditions affecting children. Equipped with modern surgical facilities and supported by a multidisciplinary team of paediatric surgeons, neonatologists, paediatricians, anaesthesiologists, and intensive care specialists, we strive to deliver the highest standards of care while ensuring the comfort and well-being of both patients and their families.

About 8 out of 1000 babies are born with maladies of heart and may be ailing at birth. They require care and intervention at very early stage as time is critical in saving their lives. Some children may suffer from a cardiac disorder at a later in life and need early care. Our department of Paediatric Cardiology provides both invasive and non invasive treatment services. This division diagnoses and treats cardiac issues in new-borns and foetuses alike.
