Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), also known as physiatry, help restore movement and function to people disabled by disease or injury. Physiatry provides integrated, multidisciplinary care aimed at recovery of the whole person. Our physiatrists aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life. Physiatrists, treat a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. The goal of rehabilitation therapy is to teach people how to take care of themselves as much as possible. The focus is often on daily tasks such as eating, bathing, using the bathroom and moving from a wheelchair to a bed. The treatment is designed to meet each person's specific needs; therefore, each program is different.
Clinical Focus
We focus on rehabilitation of various neurological conditions like stroke, spinal cord injury and other types of paralysis. We treat various muscle and joint diseases especially arthritis. The area of special interest are lifestyle diseases like obesity, diabetes, geriatric problems and sports medicine. We emphasis also the rehabilitation of orthopaedics, cardio-pulmonary and paediatrics.
Infrastructure
We provide Outpatient Services in Physical medicine and Rehabilitation and our Expert and Qualified Consultant Physiatrist will assess and evaluate the condition and suggest treatment for cure. We do have a well-equipped Physiotherapy unit with various therapeutic modalities.
