Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Training program
An American Heart Association (AHA) certified Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training program was successfully conducted on April 4 and 5, 2025, at Malabar Medical College, Kozhikode. The session was organized to enhance the resuscitation skills and paediatric emergency response capabilities of healthcare professionals.
A total of nine participants attended the training. The group included:
- 1 Paediatrician
- 3 Postgraduate students from the Department of Emergency Medicine
- 5 Staff nurses from the Emergency Medicine Department
The training was led by certified AHA instructors Dr. Shanavas and Dr. Deepak R, who facilitated both the theoretical and practical components of the course, including hands-on simulations, megacode assessments, and skill stations in line with AHA guidelines.
The program was efficiently coordinated by Mr. Muneer from Aster MIMS, Calicut, whose logistical support and planning ensured the smooth conduct of the two-day event.
The session concluded with all participants demonstrating improved knowledge and practical competency in paediatric advanced life support protocols, significantly contributing to the quality of paediatric emergency care at their respective institutions.
