Guest lecture-Automated blood culture
A guest lecture was organized by department of Microbiology in collaboration of Hospital Infection prevention & central committee on 25th July 2023 in CME Hall, Hospital Block by Dr. Arun Kaushik (MD Microbiology), Medical Affairs, BD India.
Dr. Arun Kaushik is an experienced clinical microbiologist and Infection control officer from corporate hospitals like Appolo & Fortes group, Internal auditor as per ISO 15189:2012 standards. Currently handling Medical affairs for scientific engagements, CME’s training.
The topic was “Importance of paired blood culture in automated blood culture system” for faculty, PG residents and interns
It was well appreciated by the lab physicians INVENTIST and Interns. The speaker emphasized on the importance of paired blood culture, its timing of sample collection transportation so as to reduce the rate of contamination & increase the isolation of pathogens from blood sample.
