World COPD Day
World COPD Day is organized by the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) in collaboration with health care professionals and COPD patient groups throughout the world.
The Department of Respiratory Medicine, Malabar Medical College Hospital, Calicut observed World COPD Day 2025 on 19th November. The 2025 theme for World COPD Day was “Short of Breath, Think COPD.”
As part of the celebration, Dr. Sai Nivedh, 2nd Year post graduate, delivered a talk on the Latest updates in COPD - GOLD guidelines for House Surgeons, Postgraduates, and Consultants. The session covered new treatment recommendations, exacerbation prevention, and the importance of pulmonary rehabilitation.
