Dr. Harris Mohammed P is a highly accomplished and versatile General Surgeon known for his exceptional surgical expertise, academic excellence, and leadership abilities. With extensive experience in clinical practice, teaching, and surgical training, he has established himself as a dedicated professional committed to delivering quality patient care and advancing surgical education.
He completed his MBBS and Master’s in Surgery from Yenepoya Medical College. Further strengthening his expertise, he earned a Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS) and a Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery (DMAS) from the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India. He is also certified by Kerala University of Health Sciences in Clinical Skill Simulation and as a Surgical Skill Trainer.
Dr. Harris Mohammed is proficient in a wide range of surgical procedures including appendicectomy, thyroidectomy, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, and breast surgeries. He possesses significant expertise in burn care and diabetic wound management, and has successfully performed numerous laparoscopic appendectomies, cholecystectomies, and hernia repairs. His special interests include laparoscopic hernia repair, surgical education, and research.
Prior to joining our institution, he served for five years as Assistant Professor in the Department of General Surgery at MES Medical College, where he was widely appreciated for his teaching skills and mentorship. He joined the Department of General Surgery in our institution on 22 April 2020 and has recently been promoted to the position of Professor in recognition of his academic contributions, clinical excellence, and leadership in surgical training.
