(Prof.) Dr. Shailaja T. S. is a highly committed and enthusiastic educator with extensive experience in the field of microbiology. She joined Malabar Medical College & Research Centre in 2021 as Professor in the Department of Microbiology, and currently serves as the Head of the Department.
She completed her MBBS in 1992 from Government Medical College, Thrissur, and went on to pursue her MD in Microbiology from Government Medical College, Kozhikode in 2003.
Dr. Shailaja began her teaching career in 2006 as Assistant Professor at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Kochi, followed by academic positions at leading institutions across Kerala. She joined Academy of Medical Sciences, Pariyaram in 2008, and further advanced her career as Associate Professor at Jubilee Mission Medical College, Thrissur in 2010. In 2015, she took on the role of Professor and Head at P.K. Das Institute of Medical Sciences, where she contributed significantly to departmental leadership and academic development.
With a strong foundation in clinical microbiology, teaching, and academic leadership, Dr. Shailaja is dedicated to shaping future healthcare professionals through innovative teaching methods, mentorship, and hands-on training. Her expertise and leadership continue to strengthen the Department of Microbiology at MMCH & RC.
