Dr. Suma B Pillai is a passionate educator with a fiery determination to train and inspire the next generation of medical professionals. She joined Malabar Medical College & Research Centre in 2020 as Professor in the Department of Pathology, bringing with her a wealth of academic experience and clinical expertise.
She completed her MBBS from M.R. Medical College, Gulbarga, Karnataka in 1993, and went on to earn her MD in Pathology from PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (PSGIMSR), Tamil Nadu in 2004.
Dr. Suma has served in various academic roles at PSGIMSR — including Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor — where she contributed significantly to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, curriculum development, and departmental leadership.
With numerous publications to her credit, Dr. Suma B Pillai is committed to promoting evidence-based learning and research in pathology. Her dynamic teaching style, dedication to student mentoring, and academic contributions continue to enhance the educational environment at MMCH & RC.
