Dr. Sandeep Sreedharan, MBBS, MD, DM, FRCP (Lon), FRCP (Edin), FASN is a Senior Consultant Nephrologist with more than 25 years of experience in patient care, teaching, and research. He joined Malabar Medical College Hospital in 2023 as Associate Professor of Nephrology and currently serves as the Associate Dean for Clinical Excellence, Services, and Research.
Before joining Malabar Medical College, Dr. Sandeep worked for over a decade at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi. In 2008, he completed a research fellowship in Diabetology at the Madras Diabetes Research Foundation, Chennai, under the guidance of Padma Shri Dr. V. Mohan.Dr. Sandeep underwent postdoctoral fellowship training at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Texas, in 2005. He has also received specialized training in Research Methodologies from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (2006) and in Evidence-Based Medicine from Weill Cornell Medical College, Cornell University, New York (2011).
An accomplished academician and researcher, Dr. Sandeep has authored more than 50 publications in reputed national and international peer-reviewed journals. His contributions to medicine and nephrology have earned him several prestigious recognitions, including the Young Scientist Award from the Association of Physicians of India (2011), the Niyamathulla Award from the Indian Society of Nephrology – Southern Chapter (2010), the IMA Research Award (2011), and the Award for Best Paper Presentation from the Nephrology Association of Kerala (2014).
In recognition of his professional excellence and contributions to nephrology, Dr. Sandeep was conferred the Fellowship of the American Society of Nephrology (FASN), Washington DC, USA, in 2021; the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians, London (FRCP) in 2025; and the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (FRCP Edin) in 2026.
