(Prof.) Dr. P. T. James is a renowned senior retired professor from Government Medical College, Calicut, recognized for his multifaceted expertise as a clinician, educator, and researcher. With extensive competence in clinical skills, teaching, and research, he has made significant contributions to the field of pulmonology.
Dr. James earned his MBBS degree from T.D. Medical College, Alappuzha in 1981. He further specialized by completing a DTCD from B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad in 1983, followed by an MD in Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases from Government Medical College, Trivandrum, and a DNB in Respiratory Disease in 1986.
He began his medical career at Calicut Medical College, where he steadily advanced, retiring as Professor and Head of the Department at the same institution. His last assignment was as Professor and Head at AIMS, Kochi.
Dr. James currently serves as the Editor of Journal Pulmon, the official publication of the Academy of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, highlighting his ongoing dedication to advancing research and education in pulmonology.
Since 2020, he has been a vital member of our institution, serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Pulmonology, where he continues to lead with excellence in clinical care, education, and research.
