Dr. Durga Balagopalan joined our esteemed institution on 1st August 2011 as an Assistant Professor and was subsequently promoted to the position of Professor and Head of the Department of Pulmonary Medicine. She is widely recognized for her clinical expertise, unwavering academic dedication, and effective leadership within the department.
She completed her MBBS from Government Medical College, Calicut in 2002. Furthering her specialization in respiratory medicine, Dr. Durga earned a DTCD (Diploma in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases) in 2006, followed by a DNB in Pulmonary Medicine from Government Medical College, Calicut in 2009.
Before joining our institution, Dr. Durga gained extensive clinical experience at the Chest Hospital, Calicut and in the Department of Pulmonary Medicine at Government Medical College, Calicut, where she developed a robust foundation in managing complex respiratory conditions.
As Professor and Head of Department, Dr. Durga Balagopalan combines her vast clinical expertise with a passion for teaching and research. She continues to play a pivotal role in advancing patient care standards and fostering academic excellence within the field of pulmonary medicine.
