Dr. Lakshmi C is a burgeoning and talented Paediatric Ophthalmologist, known for her precision, compassion, and dedication to excellence in eye care and medical education. With a strong foundation in clinical ophthalmology and specialized expertise in paediatric eye conditions and adult strabismus, she brings both depth and breadth to her role as an educator and clinician.
She completed her MBBS from Government Medical College, Thrissur in 2003, followed by MS in Ophthalmology from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University in 2007. She further earned her DNB in Ophthalmology in 2008 and pursued a Fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus, equipping her with advanced skills in this highly specialized field.
She joined Malabar Medical College & Research Centre in 2008 as Assistant Professor, and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2021.Her commitment to patient care and excellence in teaching led to her promotion as Associate Professor in 2021, and subsequently as Professor in 2024.
Her clinical acumen, combined with a passion for teaching, has made her a respected mentor among students and colleagues. Dr. Lakshmi continues to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the department, while providing quality care to her patients with dedication and expertise.
