Dr. Roney Thomas

Dr. Roney Thomas joined Malabar Medical College Hospital & Research Centre on 1st December 2025 as Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine. He brings with him extensive clinical and academic experience spanning more than a decade across some of the most respected medical institutions in South India. 

Dr. Roney Thomas began his career with a one-year tenure at Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore, followed by over three years at Baby Memorial Hospital, Kozhikode. He subsequently served for more than five years at MES Medical College, Perinthalmanna, contributing significantly to the development and strengthening of emergency care services. His most recent assignment was with Pushpagiri Medical College Hospital, where he worked since January 2019 and served as Professor and Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine. 
A dedicated clinician, leader, and teacher, Dr. Roney is also a postgraduate faculty member for DNB Emergency Medicine under the National Board of Examinations (NBE), actively involved in training and mentoring the next generation of emergency physicians. 

Dr. Roney’s academic credentials demonstrate his strong grounding in both orthopaedics and emergency medicine. He completed his MBBS from JJM Medical College, Davangere (1992), earned his D.Ortho from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore (1996), and subsequently achieved his DNB in Orthopaedics from Christian Medical College, Vellore (2000). In recognition of his contributions to the field, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Academic College of Emergency Experts (FACEE) in 2014. 

Driven by a commitment to excellence in patient care, medical education, and clinical leadership, Dr. Roney Thomas continues to play a key role in elevating the standards of Emergency Medicine at Malabar Medical College Hospital & Research Centre.
