Dr. Giraja A. S. is a highly respected neurologist with an outstanding career spanning several decades in clinical neurology, medical education, and academic leadership. A retired senior neurologist from government service, she is widely recognized for her expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex neurological disorders and for her significant contributions to neurological training and patient care.
Dr. Giraja completed her MBBS and MD in Neurology under the University of Kerala. She further pursued super-specialty training and obtained her DM in Neurology from the prestigious Madras Medical College, one of India's premier institutions for advanced medical education and neurological sciences. Her final professional assignment was at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, one of India's most renowned tertiary care and teaching institutions.
Throughout her distinguished career, Dr. Giraja served in various capacities within the government medical education system, providing specialized neurological care while actively participating in teaching and research. She held the position of Head of the Department of Neurology at Government Medical College, Calicut, for 15 years, where she played a pivotal role in strengthening neurological services, advancing academic programs, and mentoring numerous postgraduate students and neurology trainees.
With extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient neurological care, Dr. Giraja has special expertise in the evaluation and treatment of:
