She is an extensively talented, eminent psychiatrist with special interest in academics and research. She started her career as CMO NFSG in the Central Government Health Scheme programme and worked for about 23 years under the programme. She achieved MBBS from Calicut Medical College, MD in Psychiatry from Madras Medical College and MSc Psychology from Madras University.  She worked in Madras Medical College, Chennai for 3 years as Junior Resident. She then joined D.Y Patil Medical College in 2011 and worked there for about a decade during which she was promoted from Assistant Professor up to Professor of Psychiatry. She joined our institution as Professor in Psychiatry Department on 16th August 2021 with special interest in Child Psychiatry. She is also trained in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from NIMHANS, 2001.
